UNIVERSITY COUNCILS
There are five University Councils that bring faculty and staff together from across multiple divisions and departments. External stakeholders may also serve on a University Council as appointed by the President. Together, the University Councils form an adhocracy model of governance to support institutional priorities. University Councils are chaired by a member of the President's Cabinet. University Councils and associated Committees are responsible for developing, performing and measuring the success of key initiatives that advance the University Council's purpose and thus, the University's overall mission. University Councils report data to the President's Cabinet, Executive Council and other campus stakeholders; proposes specific action steps aligned with the University's Strategic Plan; oversees the implementation of approved action steps; and assesses the success of these implementations.
Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Council
The Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Council supports student enrollment management and the transition of students into an engaged, student-centered campus environment; researches best practices in strategically supporting and diversifying enrollment; researches best practices in increasing retention and program completion rates; proposes specific action steps to increase retention program completion rates. The Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Council has representation from, and coordinates with, the University Senate's Student Affairs and Admissions Committee.

Diversity and Inclusion Council
The Diversity and Inclusion Council provides leadership on best practices and strategies to build and sustain an inclusive campus community using principles of equity and inclusion in recruitment, through diversity education and functions, and development programming. The Diversity and Inclusion Council strives to position Mansfield University to fulfill its mission of educating a diverse student body with the added goal of aspiring to attract and retain faculty and staff reflective of our communities.

Budget and Finance Council
The Budget and Finance Council provides an independent, objective and systematic overview process for evaluating and recommending proposals for funding to meet the strategic priorities of the University. The Budget and Finance Counsel's recommendations are submitted to the President's Cabinet in an advisory capacity for final decisions. The Budget and Finance Council has representation from, and coordinates with, the University Senate's Administrative Affairs and Elections Committee.

University Assessment Council
The University Assessment Council provides recommendations and guidance regarding the assessment of student learning outcomes in programs across the University, professional development for faculty and staff in the areas of assessment and continuous improvement, and recognition of best practices and excellent assessment work. The University Assessment Council reviews, refines, and promulgates institutional learning outcomes, reviews and interprets aggregate data relating to the achievement of these learning outcomes, and makes recommendations for necessary improvements.
