Mr. Meyer has been a member of the M.U. Council of Trustees since 1997 and served as the Council Chairman from 2006 - 2016. He received his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Syracuse University and his Masters in Hospital Administration from the University of Michigan.
Mr. Meyer served as the President and CEO of Guthrie Healthcare System from 1982-1998 and upon retirement was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer Emeritus. Mr. Meyer held several other positions within Guthrie since his initial appointment as Administrator of the Robert Packer Hospital in 1974.
Prior to his Guthrie career, Mr. Meyer was on the Administrative Staff of The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of the Pennsylvania State University, Hershey, Pennsylvania and served with the United States Air Force Medical Service Corps.
Mr. Meyer retired in 2012 from the Board of Chemung Canal Trust Company in Elmira, NY after serving 31 years. He is a member of the Board and Executive Committee of Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown NY and a Life Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives. He was a certified and active high school football official for 15 years and retired from officiating in 2014.
Mr. Meyer authored nine and co-authored two articles published in various journals and co-authored one book.
Mr. Meyer and his wife Carol reside in S. Waverly, PA and have two children, Keith and Jeanne.
