Ms. Ada Mae Saxton

Ms. Saxton has been a member of the Mansfield University Council of Trustees since 1997.  She has also served as a member of the Foundation board for a total of eight years.  She provided the Commencement address to graduating students in May 1996 and assisted with two Presidential searches in 1997 and 2004.

Ms. Saxton received her B.S. in Music Education from Mansfield University and has continued her education at Penn State University and Harrisburg Community College.  She taught Vocal Music at Central Buck Jr/Sr. High School and served as the Supervisor, Elementary Music at Towanda Area School District.  After many years as a homemaker (four children and eight grandchildren), Ms. Saxton served as the Secretary on Saxton Air Systems, Inc Board of Directors for nine years and then as the President and C.E.O. for another 11 years.

Ms. Saxton is a member of the Harrisburg Area Chamber of Commerce (Chairperson of Executive Women’s Forum), Board of Trustees, Board of Trustees, Calvary United Methodist Church and Chamber Singers of Harrisburg Board.  She has served as the Vice President and President of the United Methodist Homes for the Aging Central PA Conference.

Ms. Saxton has volunteered her services to the following organizations: CanSurmount (six years); Calvary United Methodist Church (16 years); “Bel Voce” as a vocalist (30 years); Central PA Food Bank; New Friendship Community Center; Central PA Literacy Council (six years); Allied Arts Fund, Campaign Volunteer; and Radio Reading for Tri-County Association for the Blind.
