
Mr. Browning has been a Trustee of Mansfield University since October 2007. He received his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mansfield University in 1975. As a student, Tom was a Resident Assistant in Maple and Pinecrest Manors and a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.
Since his graduation from Mansfield, Mr. Browning has worked with Senator Robert J. Mellow in his Peckville and Harrisburg offices. He has served Senator Mellow as a Legislative Assistant, as his Executive Assistant and currently as his Chief of Staff-District Operations.
Mr. Browning has received the Humanitarian Award from the Chapel of the Four Chaplains and was inducted into the Valley View High School Football Hall of Fame. He has been involved in various activities that include membership in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Holy Name Society, the Lackawanna Historical Society, Cougar Kick-Off Club, the Board of Directors for Equal Opportunity Training Center, Executive Committee for Lackawanna County Democrats and Chair of their annual dinner. Mr. Browning is currently the Chairperson for the Valley Community Library Campaign Committee, former member of the Johnson College Board of Trustees and former President of the Valley Community Library. Also, he was formerly a member of the Day Nursery Association Board of Directors and Lackawanna County Blind Association.
Mr. Browning and his wife Maria reside in Peckville, PA. Their daughter Maura is an insurance executive in Los Angeles, CA and their son TJ is a naval aviator stationed in Norfolk, VA.
